Cancellation Policies on Google
With the Policies feature, properties can share their cancelation-policy data with Google. This allows properties to display the “Free Cancellation” label directly in Google Hotel Search, helping them stand out to travelers and attract more direct bookings.
How it works
- Only properties with Policies enabled can send cancelation-policy information to Google.
- The sync is automatic - no additional setup is required.
- Cloudbeds sends the policy information at the room/rate plan level (not tied to individual reservations).
What guests will see
- Google currently highlights the “Free Cancellation” label for eligible properties.
- Other policy types (such as Non-Refundable or Partially Refundable) may not yet be displayed.
Important notes
- This update applies only to new reservations made after policies are enabled and configured.
- Policies are standardized and sent programmatically by Cloudbeds, so properties don’t need to worry about formatting or Google-specific requirements.
- Google Hotel Search does not currently display deposit information.
