How to Add or Edit Primary & Third Party Reservation Sources

Follow

The reservation source is the place from which the reservation was created. Keeping sources organized and tracking them is very useful for accounting purposes and to check which reservation sources bring you highest number of guests and income. With myfrontdesk it's also easy to apply taxes, fees and commissions for specific sources.

Adding and editing Primary Sources

The primary sources are used for creating new direct reservations from within the system. Primary sources created by default include Walk-Ins, Phone, Email bookings as well as reservations created in Mybookings (Website). You may create your own primary/direct sources by following the steps below:

1. Click Manage gear icon and click 'Reservation Sources'
2. Select 'Primary Sources'
3. Click 'ADD SOURCE'

4. Provide a name for your source
5. Apply a tax/fee if needed
Check this article to learn how to apply taxes and fees to the source - Applying Taxes and Fees To Reservation Sources
6. Click SAVE

7. You may only edit or delete manually created reservation sources:

8. You may deactivate any primary source if it's not used

Adding and editing Third-Party Sources

Third-party sources are used to trigger the reservations coming from OTAs, wholesalers, travel agents and corporate clients. You may add any channel which can be connected through myallocator (Cloudbeds channel manager) as a source or add any third party by following the steps below:

THINGS TO NOTE:

  • This page is for manually labeling third-party reservations only. Listing OTAs on this page does not connect them to your myfrontdesk account.
  • Deactivating any OTA from this page does not deactivate the connection with this channel. To deactivate the channel from distribution go to: SETTINGS > DISTRIBUTION > CHANNELS
  • Commission applied to the sources on this page won't be sent to the channels. It is used for accounting purposes within myfrontdesk only. Check this article to learn more about Commission Report

1. Click Manage gear icon and click 'Reservation Sources'
2. Select 'Primary Sources'
3. Click 'Add new Wholesaler/OTA/Corporate Client/Travel Agent'

4. For Wholesaler, Travel Agent and Corporate Client - enter the name of the source. For OTAs - select OTA from list (includes only the OTAs which can be connected through myallocator channel manager).

5. Apply a commission if needed.
The commission percentage entered here is used only for tracking, it won't be sent to OTAs. You may check Commission Report to see how much you have paid to the channels.
6. Apply tax/fee if needed
Check this article to learn how to apply taxes and fees to the source - Applying Taxes and Fees To Reservation Sources
7. Click SAVE

8. Now you may edit or delete manually created reservation sources:

9. You may deactivate any third party source

Deactivating any OTA from this page does not deactivate the connection with this channel. To deactivate the channel from distribution go to: SETTINGS > DISTRIBUTION > CHANNELS

Some channels have different payment methods for which commission may differ, for example, Hotel Collect or Channel Collect. These channels can be added as separate sources with different commission and tax/fee applied.

Starting from mid-February 2018 these channels will include Booking.com and Agoda

If you have payment processing enabled - you may setup processing methods for each OTA collect type on Payment Options page
