Introduction
Tags help you organize reports in Cloudbeds Insights and find them faster without relying only on report names. You can add tags while saving a report, update tags on an existing report, and use the Tags filter to narrow the report list.
Reporting navigation can look different between accounts. The workflows below focus on the controls used for tagging instead of a specific top-menu layout. For a broader explanation of Reporting and Cloudbeds Insights, see Reporting Overview and Navigation.

Understand where report tags are available
Cloudbeds Insights includes the advanced reporting capabilities used to create, modify, save, and organize reports. If you have the required permissions, you can assign tags to reports in the Reports area and later use those tags to find reports faster.
In the free Reporting experience, you can use the Tags filter in Cloudbeds Reports when tags are available on those reports, but you cannot create or manage report tags without Cloudbeds Insights.
Add tags when saving a report
Add tags when you are ready to save a new Cloudbeds Insights report. The Save action opens the report details where you can assign a folder, enter tags, and add a description before saving the report.
- Create or configure the report you want to save.
- Click Save in the upper-right corner of the report.
The Save button is available from the report itself after you finish configuring the report.
- In the Save Report dialog, enter or confirm the report name and folder as needed.
- In the Tagging field, do one of the following:
- Type a new tag, then press Enter or type a comma (,) to add it.
- Select an existing tag when a matching suggestion is available.
- Confirm that each selected tag appears as a blue label in the Tagging field.
- Click Save.
Before saving, the Tagging field shows each assigned tag as a blue label. This confirms that the tag has been added to the report details.
Manage tags on an existing report
Use the report's edit options when you need to add another tag, reuse an existing tag, or remove a tag from a report that has already been saved. You must have permission to modify the report.
- Open the report you want to update.
- Open the More menu in the upper-right corner, then click Edit.
The Edit option opens the saved report information without changing the report data or layout first.
- In the Edit report dialog, use the Tagging field to update the assigned tags:
- Type a new tag, then press Enter or type a comma (,).
- Select an existing tag from the suggestions.
- Click the x on a blue tag label to remove that tag from the report.
- Click Save Edits to apply the changes.
Existing tags appear as blue labels, and available matching tags can appear below the field as suggestions. Reusing an existing tag helps keep filtering consistent across reports.
Filter reports by tags
Use the Tags filter when you know the tag associated with the report you need. In Cloudbeds Insights, use it from the Reports list. In the free Reporting experience, the same type of filter can appear in Cloudbeds Reports when tags are available.
- Open the report list available in your Reporting experience.
- Click the Tags filter.
- Select one or more tags.
- Review the report list to find the reports associated with the selected tag criteria.
The tag menu lists the available tags you can use to narrow the report list. The exact top-level Reporting tabs can vary between accounts, so use the report list and Tags filter shown in your account.
Tag naming best practices
Use short, clear, and consistent tag names that describe how the report is used. A simple naming convention makes filtering more predictable as your report library grows.
- Use department or workflow names when they are meaningful to your team, such as Front Desk or Revenue.
- Use time-based labels such as Daily or Monthly when frequency helps users find the report.
- Avoid abbreviations unless they are commonly understood by everyone who uses the reports.
- Reuse an existing tag when it already describes the report instead of creating a slightly different version of the same label.
