Understanding the Vrbo Advertisement ID in Cloudbeds PMS

  • The Vrbo Advertisement ID is a unique identifier assigned to each property listed on Vrbo (Vacation Rentals by Owner).
  • This ID is essential for managing your listings and syncing information between Vrbo and your property management system, such as Cloudbeds.
  • This article will explain how to find the ID in the PMS and how it works for single and multi-property accounts.

How to find the Vrbo Advertisement ID in Cloudbeds

  • The Advertisement ID becomes visible only after the Vrbo API channel setup is completed and the status changes from "In Creation" to "Pending."
  • You can find your Vrbo Advertisement ID on the Manage page of the Vrbo API channel setup in Cloudbeds. Navigate to the Distribution page > Channels > Vrbo > scroll down and find Vrbo Advertiser ID.

  • The Vrbo Advertisement ID will be requested during the Vrbo Self-Onboarding stage. See the connection guide.

How it works

By default, the system uses the Cloudbeds property ID as the Vrbo Advertisement ID.

However, if a property belongs to an organization or association, the system assumes that a single Vrbo account manages multiple Cloudbeds properties. As a result, it automatically assigns the organization ID as the Vrbo Advertisement ID for all properties within that organization.

Handling separate Vrbo accounts for Associated Properties

In some cases, properties belong to an organization on the Cloudbeds side but have separate Vrbo accounts. In this scenario, we must manually change the automatically assigned organization ID and set a unique Vrbo Advertisement ID for each Cloudbeds property.
