The Cash Drawer manages your cash transactions and acts as the physical drawer at your reception desk. It helps you track and control your transactions with just a few clicks.

Access and Use
- Go to the Main Menu.
- Click Cash Drawer.
- Select the desired option based on your needs.
- Cash Drawer is used for cash payments only.
- Credit card or other payment types are not included in the cash drawer.
- If it’s not visible, review Role Privileges to ensure permissions are enabled.
Manage Cash Drawers
Create, Modify, or Delete Cash Drawers
Create a Cash Drawer
- Go to Main Menu → Cash Drawer → Create/Modify Cash Drawers.
- Click +Cash Drawer.
- Enter a drawer name.
- Add a Starting Balance — the cash amount at the start of the shift.
- Click Save Cash Drawer.
Modify Cash Drawers
- Go to Create/Modify Cash Drawers under the Cash Drawer menu.
- Click the pencil icon to edit the drawer.
- Update the name as needed.
- Click Save Cash Drawer.
- To deactivate, toggle off — the color changes from green to gray.
- Click again to reactivate.
Delete Cash Drawers
- From the Cash Drawer menu, open Create/Modify Cash Drawers.
- Click the (x) icon to delete the drawer.
- Confirm by clicking Delete Cash Drawer.
Access Open Drawers
- In the Main Menu, click Cash Drawer → Access Open Drawers.
- Select the desired cash drawer.
- Review its summary.
Filter/Group Transactions and Add or Remove Cash
- Filter/group transactions by account, reservation, room, or guest.
- Add or remove cash — specify amount and optional note (not tied to a reservation).
- Review all cash drawer transactions and totals.

Open Cash Drawer
- Go to Main Menu → Cash Drawer → Open Cash Drawer.
- Select the Cash Drawer to open.
- Enter the Starting Balance.
- Add optional notes.
- Click Continue.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Cash Drawer work for multiple users?
The Cash Drawer mirrors your property’s physical drawers. If you have multiple users, it’s best to create a corresponding drawer for each user so they can manage transactions independently.
- Create one cash drawer per user.
- If the user already exists, follow this section to create their drawer.
- Need to create a user? See Add, edit, or disable users.
Scenarios:
- Scenario 1: Administrator with an open drawer can only add transactions to their own drawer.
- Scenario 2: Administrator without an open drawer can add to another user’s currently open drawer.
- Scenario 3: Property Owner can select from any open cash drawer in the system.
What are the minimum permissions to add cash transactions?
- Open Cash Drawers
- Add Cash Transactions without having drawer open
These allow users to open drawers when processing payments but not access settings or drawer contents. Learn more about Role Privileges.
Is cash added to the Cash Drawer counted as revenue?
- Entering a starting balance does not affect reports since it’s pre-allocated cash.
- Adding/removing cash appears as payments or payouts and affects daily totals. Always begin with the actual physical starting balance.
