Digital Marketing Performance Dashboard

Purpose Review your Cloudbeds Digital Marketing performance, campaign activity, bookings, and available reporting, forecasting, and campaign tools.
Best for Property managers, general managers, administrators, and property owners
Use this when You want to review Cloudbeds Digital Marketing results, compare performance over time, access available solution dashboards, review attributed bookings, evaluate potential direct-booking opportunities, or manage supported creative assets for managed campaigns.
Requirements Cloudbeds Digital Marketing must be enabled for your property. Available features depend on your campaign setup and applicable performance data.
Expected result You can identify the dashboard experience available to your property, review performance data and available forecasts, and use the campaign, reporting, and comparison tools available to you.
Limitations Dashboard tabs and managed campaign controls vary by property. Direct-booking forecasts are available only to non-advertising properties whose Free Booking Links data meets the display criteria. Additional managed channels, such as Retargeting, Search Booster, and Hotel PMax, may become available when campaign performance supports expansion. Expedia does not provide individual reservation IDs for OTA Ads reporting, so OTA Ads performance is available at the campaign level instead.

Introduction

The Digital Marketing Performance Dashboard helps you understand how your Cloudbeds Digital Marketing solutions contribute to bookings and revenue. From the dashboard, you can review booked revenue, reservations, campaign performance, and your property's online reputation.

  • Review Booked Revenue and reservation activity attributed to supported Cloudbeds Digital Marketing channels.
  • Access the individual solution areas or managed Ads Performance experience available to your property.
  • Compare performance across different date ranges, filter available data, and export or print dashboard information.

The navigation and campaign controls you see depend on the Cloudbeds Digital Marketing services and campaigns enabled for your property. Properties with managed campaigns may see an Ads Performance tab instead of separate campaign tabs.

Reservation-level reporting applies to reservations available in the Performance Dashboard. OTA Ads is reported differently: Expedia does not provide individual reservation IDs for OTA Ads, so use the OTA Ads dashboard to review campaign-level performance.

Use Ads Performance for managed campaigns

If Cloudbeds manages your advertising campaigns, the Ads Performance tab brings results from your active managed advertising channels into one place. Use it to review performance and, when available, view or customize supported campaign creative assets.

Managed campaign availability varies by property. Cloudbeds reviews managed campaign performance weekly and identifies opportunities to expand into additional channels, such as Retargeting and Hotel PMax, when overall performance supports expansion. For this reason, not every managed property will see the same campaigns, tabs, or asset controls.

Review managed campaign performance

  1. In your Cloudbeds account, click the Main Menu Main Menu icon
  2. Click Digital Marketing.
  3. Click Ads Performance.
  4. Select the reporting period and, when needed, use Compare with to compare results with another period.
  5. Review the available performance metrics, such as clicks, views, bookings, and revenue.

The Ads Performance page shows consolidated campaign results and the campaign controls available for the managed channels currently running for your property. The example below shows the reporting controls, performance metrics, and the Edit my ads and View my ads options.

View or edit supported campaign assets

When your managed campaigns include supported creative assets, the Ads Performance card can display the following options:

  • Edit my ads: Open your campaign assets and review or update supported creative content.
  • View my ads: Preview the ads available for your active managed campaigns.

Content customizations require a review period. After you customize campaign content, allow at least one week before making another content customization. When another edit is not yet available, the Edit my ads option displays this review-period message.

Select Edit my ads to open the Your campaign assets drawer. The options shown depend on the campaigns currently active for your property.

For Hotel PMax, the drawer can include Ad Strength and creative asset categories such as headlines, long headlines, descriptions, logos, images, sitelinks, and YouTube videos. If managed Retargeting is active, the Display ads area allows you to review and update supported image and text assets.

Available Display ads controls can include the campaign image, AI settings, Auto-generate text, the ad title, caption, and Auto-optimize.

  • Use Edit image to update the campaign image.
  • Use AI settings and Auto-generate text when available to help create campaign text.
  • Update the Title and Caption fields as needed.
  • When Auto-optimize is enabled, Cloudbeds can use completed reservation data to automatically improve Retargeting ad text over time.
  • Click Save to submit your changes.

The example below shows the Display ads area in Your campaign assets, including the image, text controls, Auto-optimize setting, and Save button.

Cloudbeds continues to manage the technical campaign settings for managed campaigns, including the daily budget, target return on ad spend (ROAS), target countries, and other campaign settings. Editing supported creative assets does not change how the campaign itself is managed.

Forecast direct booking opportunities

Cloudbeds Digital Marketing uses Google Free Booking Links data to estimate the potential results of starting a Metasearch Ads campaign.

For eligible properties that are not currently advertising, a dashboard banner highlights missed traveler opportunities from the previous month. These estimates can help you evaluate the potential benefits of paid advertising and opportunities to attract more direct bookings.

Why don't I see the forecast? The forecast is available only to non-advertising properties whose Google Free Booking Links data meets the criteria for displaying meaningful potential results. Not every non-advertising property will see the banner.

Forecast information is refreshed monthly, with dashboard banners generally updated by the 3rd of each month. Forecasted results are estimates and do not guarantee future bookings.

For more information about Free Booking Links and forecast eligibility, see Metasearch Ads FAQ.

Booked Revenue

The Booked Revenue area shows revenue attributed to the reporting categories available in the Performance Dashboard.

  1. Booked Revenue chart: Review how booked revenue changes over the selected reporting period.
  2. Booked Revenue by channel: Review applicable revenue grouped into Ads, Organic, and Booking Links.
    • Ads: Includes Cloudbeds Digital Marketing-influenced bookings from supported advertising campaigns, such as metasearch, Hotel PMax, and Retargeting, when applicable.
    • Organic: Bookings that come through the organic website link in search. Cloudbeds Digital Marketing influences these bookings because the website is optimized for search-engine visibility and drives organic traffic and bookings. You do not pay for organic reservations.
    • Booking Links: Bookings from Google Free Booking Links. These bookings are possible through the Cloudbeds Booking Engine, which shares your property's live rates and availability with Google. You do not pay for these reservations.

In the example below, 1 shows the booked revenue trend for the selected period, and 2 shows the revenue breakdown by channel category.

The chart automatically sets the interval, such as days, weeks, or months, according to the date range selected in the date picker.

Bookings and Commissions

The View insight option is shown in the upper-right corner of the Bookings area.

OTA Ads reporting is campaign-level. Expedia does not provide individual reservation IDs for OTA Ads, so specific OTA Ads reservations are not available in this individual bookings view. Review OTA Ads revenue, bookings, spend, clicks, views, impressions, and ROI from the OTA Ads dashboard.

In the detailed bookings view:

  1. Use the date picker to select the desired time frame.
  2. Click the filter icon to select the required channel or reservation source.
  3. Use Print or Export to save the available data.

Commissions

The Commissions section is available for commission-based managed programs, including Metasearch Light and managed Cloudbeds Digital Marketing campaigns. Self-service Metasearch Ads, Hotel PMax, and Retargeting use a different billing model and do not use commissions. When Hotel PMax or Retargeting is added as part of a managed campaign, it remains part of the managed program.

  1. Click the calendar drop-down menu to select the period to display.
  2. Review the Commissionable and Commission values. The estimated commissionable amount updates according to the reservation status. It remains an estimate until checkout is complete. After a reservation is invoiced in the recurring monthly billing cycle, its final commission value is added accordingly.
