- Access management and door lock platforms help businesses and organizations improve security and streamline access control. With their platforms, businesses can easily manage and control access to their buildings and facilities through the use of electronic door locks and access cards. This helps businesses increase security by only allowing authorized personnel access to certain areas, and it also helps reduce the risk of lost or stolen keys.
- Additionally, door lock platforms allow businesses to track and monitor access activity, providing valuable insights and improving accountability. Their platforms are easy to use and can be quickly integrated into existing security systems.
- Overall, these platforms help businesses improve security, increase efficiency, and enhance the overall safety of their premises.
Door Lock Integration Functionality
The exact functionality of your door lock integration depends on the partner connected to Cloudbeds. Integrations generally fall into two categories:
| Integration Type | Key Functionality | Check-in Status Update | Example Partners |
|---|---|---|---|
| API/Smart Access | Cloudbeds receives/creates a code, and the partner's API pushes occupancy events back to the PMS. | Automatic. Reservation status updates from Confirmed to In-House upon first code usage and to Checked-Out when the code expires/guest leaves. | Devicethread, Lynx, Operto |
| Encoder-Style | Cloudbeds receives/creates a code, but the partner does not push occupancy status back to the PMS. | Manual. Staff or a self-check-in flow must manually update the reservation status to In-House. The lock will only honor the programmed stay window after the manual check-in is complete. | TT Lock by Mecx-Tech |
The guest code availability is managed by the property (e.g., via pre-arrival email or SMS).
