Reporting access with and without Cloudbeds Insights
The Reporting navigation changes according to the features available to the property and the user's permissions.
| Access level | What the user may see | Main capabilities |
|---|---|---|
| Reporting without Cloudbeds Insights | Home, Cloudbeds Reports, and Subscriptions. | Open and run Cloudbeds Reports, apply supported temporary filters and display changes, review results, and complete available export or subscription actions. |
| Reporting with Cloudbeds Insights | Additional areas such as Reports and Hubs, depending on the user's assigned permissions. | Create and copy reports, save permanent customizations, organize reports, build Hubs, and use supported multi-property reporting capabilities. |
Use the tabs below to compare the Reporting navigation available without Cloudbeds Insights and with Cloudbeds Insights.
Properties without Cloudbeds Insights can access Cloudbeds Reports and other reporting areas available for their account, but they do not see the Reports or Hubs tabs used for reports and Hubs created by their property or organization.
Some properties may see an additional Cloudbeds Hubs tab. Because its availability and content can vary by property, it is not covered in this overview.
Access Cloudbeds Insights
- Open the Main Menu
in the upper-left corner.
- Select Reporting.
Reporting opens to the areas available for your property and user role. Users with Cloudbeds Insights access may see additional tabs, including Reports and Hubs.
The property owner has reporting access by default. Other users must have the appropriate reporting privileges and dataset permissions assigned to their role. To review staff access, see Roles and Permissions.
Author and Viewer permissions
Cloudbeds Insights actions depend on whether the user has Author or Viewer dataset permission. The overview below explains the key differences between these access levels. For detailed report-management behavior, see Create and manage reports with Cloudbeds Insights.
| Permission | Available actions | Main restriction |
|---|---|---|
| Author | Create reports, copy Cloudbeds Reports with Save As, permanently edit and save report configurations, and organize reports into folders. | Requires Cloudbeds Insights and Author dataset permission. |
| Viewer | Open reports, sort columns, apply supported temporary filters, export data, and create supported subscriptions. | Cannot save permanent structural changes or manage report folders. |
A user may see fewer tabs or actions than another user at the same property when their assigned permissions are different.
