Introducing the New Availability Matrix

Introduction

The New Availability Matrix gives you an updated workspace for managing rates, availability, and restrictions in Cloudbeds PMS.

The core tasks you already perform in the Availability Matrix remain available, but the new experience introduces a redesigned interface, additional property insights, new ways to organize the grid, faster editing, and easier access to supporting tools.

Limited release

A redesigned workspace

The New Availability Matrix reorganizes the controls around the grid so you can access filters, insights, settings, bulk updates, and history from the same workspace.

The updated workspace includes:

Date selector: Select the dates displayed in the matrix and review historical dates back to the start of the previous month.
Insights: Show or hide the Availability and Occupancy summary rows.
Rate Plans: Filter the matrix to the rate plan you need.
Accommodations: Filter the matrix to the accommodation type you need.
Options: Choose which rates, restrictions, pricing settings, and inventory rows appear.
Refresh: Refresh the matrix information without reloading the entire page.
Logs: Review Availability Matrix changes in a side drawer.
Settings: Access supporting settings, including Price Differentials.
+Intervals: Apply changes across multiple dates, accommodations, rate plans, or days of the week.
View Selector: Organize the matrix by accommodation type or rate plan.

Choose how to organize the matrix

The New Availability Matrix introduces two ways to organize your rates and accommodations.

Rates view

Rates view organizes the matrix by rate plan. Use it when you want rate plans to be the primary grouping while reviewing or editing the grid.

Accommodation view

Accommodation view groups each accommodation with its associated rate plans. This lets you review the accommodation's availability together with the rates connected to it.

Review Availability and Occupancy while you work

The New experience adds property-level insights directly above the grid, so you can reference business conditions while reviewing rates and inventory.

Availability: Shows the property's total remaining inventory for each displayed date.
Occupancy: Shows the property's occupancy percentage for each displayed date.

Availability is an inventory reference. It does not always represent the exact quantity that can still be sold when overbooking settings or other availability controls apply.

Edit cells faster

Editing individual cells requires fewer actions in the New Availability Matrix.

When you select an editable cell, the existing value is automatically selected so you can type the replacement value immediately. Press Enter to confirm the value and continue to the next date when supported by the selected row.

Review recent historical dates

The New Availability Matrix lets you review dates back to the start of the previous month.

Historical cells are read-only. You can review the values, but you cannot change rates, inventory, restrictions, or other settings for a past date.

Identify derived rate plans more easily

Derived rate plans now display an identifying icon directly in the matrix. Values calculated from another rate plan appear as disabled cells because they must be managed through their source rate plan or rate plan configuration.

Review changes without leaving the matrix

In the New experience, Logs open in a side drawer so you can review Availability Matrix changes while keeping the grid open.

Improved multi-property visibility

For multi-property groups, the New Availability Matrix can aggregate rate plans across properties and display the applicable currency in each cell.

What stays the same

Although the interface has changed, the Availability Matrix continues to be the place where you manage the base rates, availability, and restriction settings for your property.

You can continue to manage:

Base Rates
Amount Allotted for Sale
MinLOS and MaxLOS
Cut-off and Last Minute Booking
Stop Sell
Closed to Arrival and Closed to Departure
Additional adult and child pricing
Multi-date updates through Intervals

If you already know how to use the Classic Availability Matrix, the main workflows remain familiar. Look for Options instead of "Display Options" and +Intervals instead of "+Long-Term Interval".
