Who this affects and how
Cloudbeds Insights and the updated Reporting experience can affect different users in different ways depending on their role and reporting access.
| Role | What to know |
|---|---|
| Manager/GM | Use this overview to understand the new Dashboards experience and how it changes reporting. See Builder and Viewer at a glance to understand the main differences between creating and consuming dashboard content. |
| Admin | Confirm the property's current Reporting navigation and Cloudbeds Insights access before investigating a missing tab or control. See Find your Reporting experience. |

Find your Reporting experience
From the Main Menu , select Reporting
The Reporting page can look different across properties while the Dashboards rollout is in progress. To identify the experience available to your property, check two things:
- Reporting navigation: Your property may show the updated or legacy navigation.
- Cloudbeds Insights access: Properties with Cloudbeds Insights can show Builder controls for creating and managing custom reporting content. Properties without Cloudbeds Insights do not show the same Builder controls.
These two factors are independent. A property can use the updated navigation without Cloudbeds Insights, or have Cloudbeds Insights while still using the legacy navigation.
Keep the terminology separate when identifying what you see: Reporting refers to the overall reporting experience. In the legacy navigation, Cloudbeds Reports and Reports can appear as separate tab labels. Use the exact tab name shown in your account when following instructions or describing where you are in Reporting.
Updated Reporting navigation
The updated Reporting navigation includes Home, Reports and Dashboards, and Subscriptions. During the phased rollout, previous Reporting tabs may also remain visible. Cloudbeds Insights access determines whether Builder controls such as Manage and Add are available.
| Cloudbeds Insights access | What you may see |
|---|---|
| Yes | Home, Reports and Dashboards, and Subscriptions, together with Builder controls such as Manage and Add. |
| No | Home, Reports and Dashboards, and Subscriptions without the same Builder controls. |
Compare the examples below to identify whether your updated Reporting navigation includes Cloudbeds Insights Builder controls.

Legacy Reporting navigation
The legacy Reporting navigation can include separate tabs such as Cloudbeds Reports, Reports, Hubs, Cloudbeds Hubs, and Subscriptions. The exact tabs and Builder controls shown depend on the property's Cloudbeds Insights access.
| Cloudbeds Insights access | What you may see |
|---|---|
| Yes | Legacy Reporting tabs together with Builder controls such as Manage and Add. |
| No | Legacy Reporting navigation without the same Builder controls. |

What changes in the new Dashboards experience
The updated Dashboards experience reduces setup steps and makes reporting content easier to build, organize, and review.
The main changes are summarized below.
| Area | What changes |
|---|---|
| Data selection | Builder users no longer start by selecting a dataset. Available fields are shown in the Data Fields panel. |
| Field addition | Fields can be added through the updated interface, including drag-and-drop. |
| Dashboards | Multiple visualizations, such as tables and charts, can be organized on the same dashboard canvas. |
| Filtering | Updated date and dashboard filters provide more direct controls, including predefined and relative date options where configured. |
| Viewer mode | Viewer mode hides Builder configuration areas while keeping dashboard visualizations and available filters accessible for review. |
| Hubs | Existing Hubs are migrated to the updated experience. The previous Hubs experience can remain available during the phased rollout. |

Builder and Viewer at a glance
The capabilities available depend on the property's Cloudbeds Insights access and the permissions assigned to the user.
| Experience | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Builder | Create and modify custom reports and dashboards. Builder capabilities require Cloudbeds Insights access and the applicable Author permissions. |
| Viewer | Review and interact with available reporting content without changing the dashboard's underlying structure. |
For detailed access and permission guidance, see Configure Cloudbeds Insights Viewer and Author Permissions.
Reports and dashboards
In the updated experience, a dashboard is the canvas that can contain multiple visualizations, such as tables and charts.
A report is reporting content presented as a structured view of data. In the updated Cloudbeds Insights experience, dashboards allow multiple visualizations to be organized and viewed together in one place.
When navigating Cloudbeds, distinguish the generic term report from visible navigation labels. For example, Cloudbeds Reports can appear as a specific tab in the legacy Reporting navigation. When giving or following navigation instructions, use the exact tab label shown in your account.
