| Purpose | Use the Logs page to identify property activity, Organization-level changes, and availability changes recorded in Cloudbeds PMS. |
| Best for | Property owners, managers, admins, and front desk staff investigating operational, user, reservation, settings, or inventory changes. |
| Use this when | You need to identify who or what changed information, review Organization activity, investigate availability changes, or export recorded log results. |
| Requirements | The role permission or Organization access required for the log you want to review. The Activity Log requires the View Activity Logs permission. |
| Expected result | You can select the appropriate log, filter and review recorded changes, identify previous and new values when available, and export supported logs. |
| Limitations | Available tabs and historical records depend on your permissions, Organization access, and when each logging feature became available. Newly supported Activity Log events are not backfilled for changes made before their logging capability was introduced. |
Introduction
The Logs page provides a central place to investigate changes recorded in Cloudbeds PMS. Depending on the type of activity you are reviewing, you can use it to investigate property-level user and system activity, Organization-level changes, or updates to inventory and availability.
Each log records a different type of information and can have different access requirements. Use the comparison and workflows below to choose the log that matches the change you need to investigate.

Who this affects and how
The information available on the Logs page depends on your role and the type of activity you need to investigate.
| Role | What to know |
|---|---|
| Front Desk | Use the Activity Log when investigating reservation, guest, or other property-level changes, provided your role includes the required permission. |
| Manager/GM | Use the Activity Log to investigate operational and settings changes, and Availability Changes to review inventory changes and their resulting availability. |
| Admin | Use the available logs to investigate user, system, configuration, and inventory activity. Admins responsible for user access should also confirm that roles have the permissions required for the relevant log. |
| Owner | Use the property logs for operational oversight. Organization Owners can also use the Organization Log for supported Organization-level activity. |

Logs overview
Use this comparison to determine which log contains the information you need and which access rules apply.
| Log | What it tracks | Access |
|---|---|---|
| Activity Log | Property-level user actions, reservation changes, system events, settings changes, and other changes made in Cloudbeds PMS. | Requires the View Activity Logs permission assigned to the user's role. |

Review Activity Log, Organization Log, and Availability Changes
Expand the log you need to review. Each section explains what the log records, how to narrow the results, and which review, sharing, or export options are available.
Activity Log
The Activity Log records property-level changes made by users and system processes. Use it to investigate who or what changed information and when the change was recorded. Entries can contain guest and financial details.
Activity Log access
- Access is controlled by the View Activity Logs permission under the Property privilege category.
- The permission is enabled by default for existing and newly created roles.
- If the permission is disabled, users assigned to that role cannot access the Activity Log page or its export options.
- Disabling the permission also hides the Reservation Activity tab inside reservations.
To review or change role access, see Add, edit or delete roles.
What the Activity Log records
Activity Log entries vary depending on the action recorded. Some entries include the previous value and the new value so you can identify exactly what changed.
| Change | What the Activity Log records |
|---|---|
| Same-day booking cutoff | Changes to the Same-day bookings until setting are recorded with the previous and new times. Saving the same value again does not create another entry. |
| Unit rename | Renaming a unit records the previous and new unit name. Adding or removing units without renaming them does not create this specific rename entry. |
| Reservation documents | Reservation document uploads and removals are recorded and can be included when filtering reservation activity and status changes. |
Newly supported Activity Log events are recorded only from the date their logging capability became available. Earlier changes are not backfilled.
The examples below show the types of information you may see when these changes are recorded.
