- Once the SiteMinder connection is configured, rates can no longer be managed from the SiteMinder platform. Cloudbeds becomes the primary management system, automatically pushing rates and availability to SiteMinder.
- For security reasons, SiteMinder only transmits the credit card number to Cloudbeds with each booking. The CVC/CVV code is never transmitted to Cloudbeds. If you require the CVV/CVC code, you must retrieve it directly from the SiteMinder extranet (or the booking channel's extranet).
Cloudbeds now supports both two-way and one-way (custom) connections for this channel. During setup, you will see a Connection Type step where you can choose between Full Connection (standard 2-way sync) or Custom connection (partial or one-way sync).

Connecting process
Step 1 - Getting Started

If you don’t yet have an account on the channel:
First, you need to create an account via the sign-up link or contact their customer support. - If you already have an account on SiteMinder and would like to integrate with Cloudbeds, process with the Step 2.
While connecting to Siteminder Channel Manager, you can connect to all the channels it offers, including OTAs, GDS, and the SiteMinder Direct Booking booking engine. Connect each channel individually on the SiteMinder platform.
Step 2 - Start mapping SiteMinder in Cloudbeds PMS
- Access Account
- Settings
- Distribution
- Open the Discover tab, search for SiteMinder, and click on the channel card
- Click Enable Channel
- Connection Type: Select your preferred connection type. This integration supports Full, One-Way, and Custom connections.

Selecting the right connection type ensures your guest data flows exactly how you need it. Check out these guides to help you decide:
- Login using your Hotel ID (code you received from the Siteminder team).
- Map your rooms. One Cloudbeds room should be mapped to one channel room.
- The integration with SiteMinder does not require room and rate mapping on the SiteMinder side. Cloudbeds is the first PMS where room and rate mapping can be fully managed from Cloudbeds.
- To ensure rooms and rates appear correctly during the mapping process in Cloudbeds, they must have unique codes/IDs and descriptions within SiteMinder.

Rate Plan Mapping. Cloudbeds rates can be mapped to different channel rate plans.
Siteminder integration supports Occupancy based pricing, but does not support child pricing.
- Add a Base Rate Adjustment for each room type (if needed). When completed, click Continue, or leave it at zero if you want to skip it.
- ❗Although your connection in Cloudbeds is configured and shows as 'Enabled,' SiteMinder needs to review your property data before fully activating the functionality to receive reservations and synchronize rates and availability with Cloudbeds.
- SiteMinder will contact you directly to confirm that everything is working correctly. Your rates and availability will only be accurate once SiteMinder completes its review and grants approval. Until then, there may be discrepancies in the displayed information.

Extra Settings (Guest Pricing): Since SiteMinder supports occupancy pricing only up to 5 guests, enter additional guest rates here to ensure correct pricing for larger bookings.
The option(s) you select below must match what is set in your SiteMinder extranet.
- Review the Confirmation page and click Finish.
Step 3 - Apply Taxes and Fees
You must configure the tax/fee in the Third Party sources section in Cloudbeds. In Cloudbeds, taxes and fees for reservations are determined by either the reservation's Source or Origin:
- Source: This is always listed as 'SiteMinder' for all the reservations.
- Origin: This indicates where the reservation originated, such as a call center, web, booking engine, OTA, etc. The Origin can vary.
Applying Taxes and Fees:
- If only the Source is configured: If the Source is 'SiteMinder' but the Origin (e.g., 'Call Center') is not configured as a Third Party Source, then the taxes and fees configured for 'SiteMinder' will be applied.
- If both Source and Origin are configured: If both the Source ('SiteMinder') and the Origin (e.g., 'Booking.com') are configured as third-party Sources, then the taxes and fees configured for 'Booking.com' will be applied.
By configuring third-party sources in Cloudbeds, the correct taxes and fees are applied based on the reservation's Source and Origin details.

Reservation Details
A few new fields related to SiteMinder reservations are displayed on the reservation's header and in the "show more" section. These fields provide additional information and do not impact the reservation process. If any necessary changes are made to the reservation folio, the property staff must apply them manually.

This channel supports automatic payment-processing methods
You can configure Cloudbeds PMS to authorize or process deposit payments automatically according to your predefined rules when reservations are initially received from this channel.
