Accommodations in Swiss areas must perform several administrative tasks related to customer's personal data. They have to submit reports to legal authority offices such as the Federal Statistical Office, the police, the Tourist Tax Collection Center, and the Tourism Observatory. In summary, customer data is collected multiple times but never in the same way or for the same entities. Cloudbeds can facilitate this by taking information from the customer and transmitting it to each party concerned.
In terms of statistics, accommodations need to submit information to the Federal Office of Tourism (Bundesamt Fur Turistik) under a specific file type (HESTA). Cloudbeds is working to make this downloadable in the HESTA format so that accommodations can upload this directly to the tourism authorities (estimated availability in Q2 2025).
