The Rate Shopper allows you to compare your rates with your compsets. It shows your property's rates and occupancy as well as the market data in a detailed view.
You can view your competitors' lowest and highest price in their property or see the rates of the Selected Accommodations in the compsets.
Things to know
- Once the compsets have been created, the Rate Shopper tool will display the data returned for each of them.
- If your competitor is no longer available on the specified OTA website, the following message will appear: "[Hotel name] is no longer available on [website name]. Please remove it from your compset or select a different source".
- The Rate Shopper only shows the hotel rates for Minimum Length of Stay (MinLOS). If the property has a higher restriction in place on the channel, e.g. 2 days, then it will be listed as Closed.
- If the property has several rates in the channel for a different number of guests, only the rate assigned to 1 guest will be retrieved. It won't be possible to retrieve the rates for 2 or more guests.
- If the property does not have a 1-guest rate in the channel, e.g. 2 guests, then it will be listed as Closed.

90-Day Metrics
The Calendar section displays your competitors' rates in a table by date. You can set up certain filters to select which data to display in this view:
- The default setting for Ranking by Price on this page will be set to Lowest Prices.
- The data shown on the table will depend on what is selected in the Display setting. Check each of the options below.
- If you select All Properties in the Display section of the filter, the Rate Shopper will show the rates of each individual competitor in the selected compset.
- Use the Ranking by Price filter to show the Highest Prices or Lowest Prices in your property and in each of your competitors; or choose Selected Accommodations to show the prices of the accommodations selected on the Compsets page.
Currently the rates are refreshed every 24 hours but timestamp is not changing if rates are the same. The data is displayed for the upcoming 90 days (always rolling).
- My Property is highlighted in blue for visibility. Ranking is displayed under My Property rates and demonstrates how your property is ranked among the competitors.
The ranking is always considered from the most expensive to the last expensive independently of what is selected in the filter Ranking by Price.
Example: If your property has 2/4 in the ranking, it means it is the second most expensive among all properties in terms of prices that are displayed in the current view.
- The prices of the competitors are color coded for your convenience:
- Green - prices that are above My Property
- Red - prices that are below My Property
- Black - prices that are equal to My Property
This color coding shows at a glance where your property is positioned in the market.
- The small arrow shows how competitors’ rates changed since the last data refresh (since yesterday)
- Red arrow down - competitor’s price decreased for that date by that amount since yesterday.
- Green arrow up - competitor’s price increased by that amount.
- Status Closed is displayed when a property is either not available, sold out or has a stay restriction for that date.
