Introduction

Bank Transfer (Australia) is a local payment method that allows Australian customers to pay Cloudbeds invoices directly from their bank account. It uses Australia's Osko/New Payments Platform (NPP) banking network.

When you initiate a payment in the Cloudbeds Billing Portal, the system generates a unique BSB, bank account number, and payment reference for the selected invoice. You can use these details to transfer the invoice amount in Australian dollars (AUD) through your bank's app or website.

Payments are usually received within a few hours after the transfer is sent. Once the payment is received and confirmed, the invoice is automatically marked as paid.

This article explains how to select Bank Transfer (Australia), obtain your payment instructions, complete the transfer, and understand what happens after payment.

Availability and payment requirements

Before using Bank Transfer (Australia), review the supported payment conditions:

  • Supported country: Australia
  • Supported currency: Australian dollars (AUD)
  • Payment type: Manual bank transfer initiated by the customer
  • Expected processing time: Usually within a few hours after the bank transfer is sent
  • Multiple invoices: Each invoice requires a separate transfer using its own bank details and payment reference.
  • Recurring payments: Automatic recurring charges are not supported.
  • Refunds: Full refunds are supported through the Billing Portal. Partial refunds are not supported.

Important to know: Selecting Bank Transfer (Australia) as your payment method does not initiate a transfer. Bank details and a payment reference are generated only when you initiate payment for an invoice.

Select Bank Transfer (Australia) in the Billing Portal

To pay your invoices through an Australian bank account, first select Bank Transfer (Australia) as your preferred payment method.

  1. Go to AccountAccount Menu.jpg
  2. Open Billing PortalBilling Portal.png
  3. Click Billing settings.
  4. Scroll down to the Payment method section and click Edit.
  5. Select Bank Transfer (Australia).

The payment method selection displays information about how Australian bank transfers work and when your bank details become available.

  1. Click Save to confirm your payment preference.

Your payment preference is now saved. To generate the bank details and complete a payment, continue to the Invoices tab.

Generate and access bank transfer payment instructions

Each invoice requires its own bank transfer instructions. The BSB, account number, and payment reference are generated when you initiate payment in the Billing Portal, not when the invoice is issued.

These details are not included in the standard invoice email. Follow the steps below to generate and access them.

  1. Open the Invoices tab in the Cloudbeds Billing Portal.
  2. Click Pay to initiate payment.

The payment action is available from the invoice area of the Billing Portal.

  1. Select the invoice or invoices you want to pay and proceed.

The following screen shows the invoice selection step.

  1. The system generates a unique BSB, account number, and payment reference for each selected invoice.
  2. Return to the Invoices tab and locate the invoice whose payment details you want to access.
  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right side of the invoice row.
  4. Select Payment instructions.

The Payment instructions option lets you reopen the bank details associated with the invoice.

  1. Review and copy the bank details and payment reference provided for that invoice.

The payment instructions contain the information you need to complete the transfer through your bank.

Important: Selecting multiple invoices does not combine them into one bank transfer. Each invoice must be paid separately using its own bank details and payment reference. Do not reuse payment instructions from another invoice.

Complete the bank transfer

Once you have the payment instructions for your invoice, complete the payment through your bank's app or website.

  1. Log in to your bank's app or website.
  2. Start a bank transfer using the BSB and account number shown in your invoice's payment instructions.
  3. Enter the exact invoice amount in Australian dollars (AUD).
  4. Include the payment reference provided for that invoice.
  5. Review the bank details, amount, and payment reference before confirming the transfer.
  6. Confirm the transfer and keep your bank's payment confirmation as proof of payment.

Australian bank transfers are usually received within a few hours after the payment is sent. The invoice is updated automatically once the payment is confirmed.

Next Operational Step

After completing your bank transfer, return to the Invoices tab in the Billing Portal and verify that the corresponding invoice is marked as Paid. For future invoices, repeat the payment process using the new invoice-specific bank details and payment reference.
