Using iDEAL (Netherlands)

What is iDEAL?

iDEAL is the gold standard for payments in the Netherlands, accounting for over 70% of all Dutch e-commerce. It allows guests to pay via a direct, secure bank transfer.

Why use it?

• Zero Chargeback Risk: Guests cannot dispute iDEAL payments with their bank. Once the money is sent, it's yours.

• Dutch Market Essential: If you host Dutch travelers, they expect iDEAL. Many do not use traditional credit cards for online bookings.

• Wero Rebrand: Note that iDEAL is transitioning to iDEAL | Wero in 2026. Cloudbeds will handle this transition automatically.

Guest Experience

1. Guest selects iDEAL and chooses their bank.

2. They are redirected to their bank’s secure app or portal.

3. They authorize the transfer via 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication).

4. The funds transfer instantly.
