What is Klarna?

Klarna is a "Buy Now, Pay Later" (BNPL) service. It allows guests to split their total booking cost into smaller, interest-free installments or pay later in full.

Why use it?

  • Increase Booking Value: Guests are more likely to commit to high-value reservations (e.g., a $1,000 stay) if they can pay in installments.

  • You Get Paid Upfront: Even though the guest pays in installments, Klarna pays you the full amount immediately. Klarna takes on the credit risk.

  • Target Demographics: Extremely popular with Millennials and Gen Z travelers who use BNPL as a budgeting tool.

Guest Experience

  1. Guest selects Klarna at checkout.

  2. They choose a payment plan (e.g., Pay in 4).

  3. Klarna performs a "soft" credit check that doesn't affect their score.

  4. The booking is confirmed, and you receive the full payout.

Refunds & Limitations

  • Refunds: Supported up to 180 days. Partial refunds will adjust the guest's remaining installment balance.

  • Limitations: Only available for Pay by Link. Not available for "Card on File" or automated task charges.
