Overview
The Embeds tab is the new version of the Website Widgets section in Cloudbeds Booking Engine.
It allows you to access both legacy basic widgets and newer premium embed solutions from one place in Cloudbeds PMS.
This page is designed to help properties manage booking engine embed options more clearly as Cloudbeds continues the rollout of Immersive Experience 2.0.
The Embeds tab is currently being rolled out progressively and is expected to be available more broadly by Q1 2026.
What are Embeds?
Embeds are booking engine components that can be added to your website to help guests start or complete their booking journey.
Depending on the option selected, an embed can:
- Show a simple booking widget with check-in and check-out dates
- Open a booking button that redirects guests to the hosted booking engine
- Display a date picker for a specific property, multiple properties, or a specific accommodation
- Launch the full Immersive Experience 2.0 directly from your website
The Embeds tab includes both:
- Premium embeds, which are based on Immersive Experience 2.0
- Basic embeds, which are the legacy widget options many customers already know

The new Embeds tab does not remove existing implementations already live on your website. It mainly changes how these solutions are displayed and managed inside Cloudbeds PMS.
How to access the Embeds tab
- From your Account menu, go to Settings
- Click Booking Engine
- Select the Embeds tab
If you do not see the Embeds tab yet, your property may still be on the legacy Website Widgets page while the new interface continues rolling out.
Available Embed types
The Embeds tab is divided into two main categories: Premium and Basic.
Premium
The Premium section includes embed options connected to Immersive Experience 2.0 and newer web component solutions.
Immersive Experience 2.0 Standard and Overlay
A fully functional booking engine experience hosted on your property's website.
- You can use this option to offer a more complete booking experience directly on your website
- It helps keep guests within your website environment while they browse availability and continue through the booking flow
- You can choose between a standard embedded experience or an overlay experience, depending on your website layout
Single Property Date Picker – Horizontal and Vertical
Easy to use booking date selector that displays availability and price at a glance.
- You can use this option when you have one property and want a simple check-in and check-out search bar on your website
- It works well on a homepage, hero section (top most prominent area of a webpage), or booking section where guests can begin the booking process quickly
- You can choose a horizontal or vertical layout, depending on the design of your website
- After guests select dates, they are redirected to the Booking Engine to continue the reservation process

Multi-Property Date Picker – Horizontal and Vertical
Easy to use booking date selector that displays availability and price at a glance across all your properties.
- You can use this option when you manage multiple properties and want guests to choose a property and dates from one booking component
- It works well for brand, group, or organization websites that need a centralized booking selector
- You can choose a horizontal or vertical layout, depending on the design of your website
- After guests select a property and dates, they are redirected to the Booking Engine for that selected property

Accommodation Date Picker
This provides a simple way to add a Book Now button for a specific room on your website without rebuilding your entire booking flow.
- You can use this option when you want to promote a specific room or accommodation on your website
- It works well for room detail pages, landing pages, or promotional pages focused on a specific accommodation
- Guests can select dates before continuing, which helps guide them to the correct accommodation in the Booking Engine
- This option adds a Book Now button for a specific room or accommodation without requiring a full booking flow redesign

Basic
The Basic section includes the legacy widget options previously managed from the Website Widgets page.
Stacked
Check-in and check-out dates appear in a stacked box with little extra information.
Horizontal
Check-in and check-out dates appear in a horizontal box with little extra information.
Floating
Check-in and check-out dates are displayed in a dark banner, along with a brief message encouraging your customers to book.
Large Button
This embeds a button only with no date picker that redirects the guest to your Booking Engine.
Small Button
This embeds a button only with no date picker that redirects the guest to your Booking Engine.
These are simpler widget types that help guests begin the booking process and then continue in the hosted booking engine.
How to use Embeds
The steps depend on whether you are using a Premium or Basic option.
Use a Premium embed
Important: Premium embeds require Immersive Experience 2.0 to be enabled on your property's website before setup. To enable it and complete the installation correctly, follow the steps in Cloudbeds Booking Engine – Immersive Experience 2.0: Everything you need to know.
- Go to Booking Engine > Embeds
- In the Premium section, select the desired option
- Add or confirm your Whitelisted domains
- Open the Installation guide by clicking View
- Premium embeds require separate implementation steps and may include script installation, website configuration, and property-specific details, depending on the selected option.
- Follow the dedicated setup instructions for that specific Premium embed type
Use a Basic embed
- Go to Booking Engine > Embeds
- In the Basic section, choose the widget type
- Adjust the available settings, such as language and whether to open the booking page in a new window
- Copy the code shown in Code preview
- Paste that code into your website or website builder page
Basic embeds use the classic widget setup flow and are intended for simpler implementations.
Important: Do not use Immersive Experience 2.0 web component tags inside iframes. This setup can cause display and scrolling issues and is not recommended.
Important considerations
- Premium and Basic options are different solutions. The Embeds tab groups both modern premium components and legacy basic widgets on a single page, but their setup processes are not the same.
- Premium embeds require dedicated setup instructions. Always use the Installation guide shown in the Embeds page for the selected Premium option.
- Whitelisted domains are important for Premium embeds. Premium embed solutions connected to Immersive Experience 2.0 rely on domain authorization to function correctly.
- Website compatibility may vary. Some custom-built websites support these implementations more easily than some template-based or no-code site builders.
- Cloudbeds cannot add code to your website for you. If you need help adding scripts or widget code to your website, contact your website developer, designer, or website provider.
Embeds FAQ
Why don’t I see the Embeds tab?
The Embeds tab is being rolled out gradually across Cloudbeds properties. Because of this phased rollout, some properties may still see the legacy Website Widgets tab instead.
Availability may vary depending on your account, and the update is expected to reach all properties by Q1 2026.
While the Embeds tab becomes available, you can continue using the Website Widgets tab to add and manage your booking components without any interruption.
What is the difference between Premium and Basic in the Embeds tab?
The Premium section includes newer embed solutions related to Immersive Experience 2.0, such as Immersive Experience Standard, Overlay, and the different date picker components.
The Basic section includes the legacy widget options, such as Stacked, Horizontal, Floating, Large button, and Small button.
What happens if I don’t add a domain to Whitelisted domains?
For Premium embed solutions tied to Immersive Experience 2.0, your website domain must be added to Whitelisted domains so Cloudbeds can authorize requests coming from your website.
Without the correct domain added, the Premium embed may not work correctly.

Do I need the Installation guide for ALL embed types?
No. The Installation guide is especially important for Premium embed types, since each one may have specific implementation requirements.
For Basic embed types, the process is simpler: select the widget, copy the code, and paste it into your website.
