How to connect Italy Fiscal Receipts

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Italy Fiscal Receipts Epson Printer integration. This integration allows you to process payments within the Cloudbeds UI and automatically print compliant fiscal receipts using your Epson hardware.

Hardware and Software Requirements

Before beginning, ensure your setup meets the following criteria:

  • Operating System: Windows version 10 & above.
  • Supported Models: Epson printer models FP 89 II and FP 91 III

Setup and Configuration

  1. Install FpMate Software

Software and installation assistance must be provided by your Epson vendor. Cloudbeds cannot provide this software directly.

  • Download and install FpMate v3.7.0.0 or later.

  • Follow the Epson FpMate Configuration Guide.

  • Important: Note the installation path of the Settings.xml file. It is typically found at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Epson\FpMate\Settings.xml.

2. Configure the Fiscal Printer

  1. Connect your Epson printer to the computer via USB or Network.

  2. Configure the printer using the Epson Fiscal Printer Configuration Guide.

  3. Open FpMate to verify the printer is recognized and "Ready."

3. Marketplace Connection

  1. Log in to Cloudbeds and navigate to the AccountAccount menu icon.png-> Apps& MarketplaceApps and Marketplace icon.png

  2. Search for Italy Fiscal Printer.

  3. Click Connect App.

  4. You will be prompted to authorize data access. Click Allow Access.

    4. Install Cloudbeds Bridge app

The Bridge App acts as the translator between Cloudbeds and your local Epson hardware.

    1. After the previous step you will be redirected back to the Connected Apps page.

    2. Find "Italy Fiscal Printer" and click App Page to begin configuration.

    3. On the App Page click Settings.

    4. Download the latest installer: cloudbeds-bridge-latest.msi.

‼️The Cloudbeds Bridge software must be installed.

  5. Install the cloudbeds-bridge-latest.msi file onto the computer.
  6. Start the Cloudbeds Bridge Service
  7. Starting the app will open a browser window with a Cloudbeds login. If you are already logged in, you can proceed to the next step.
  8. Click Allow Access to grant Cloudbeds Bridge access to connect to Cloudbeds.
  9. You will see a success message.
  10. You should now see the Cloudbeds Bridge service running in your Windows system tray.
  11. You have now successfully set up the Cloudbeds Bridge App and are ready to configure the new integration within Cloudbeds.

4. Application Settings

Once on the Integration App Page, click Settings and complete the following:

Enable Training Mode

We strongly recommend enabling Training Mode during setup. This allows you to test receipt printing without sending data to the government (Agenzia delle Entrate).

FP Mate Settings File Path

Enter the file path for the Settings.xml file you noted in Phase 1 (e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Epson\FpMate\Settings.xml).

Tax Mapping

Map the taxes configured in your Cloudbeds PMS to the corresponding Tax Departments set up in your FpMate software. This ensures the correct VAT rates appear on the fiscal receipt.

Operator Mapping

Map your Cloudbeds users to the users configured in FpMate.

  • Default User: This value is used if a specific mapping is missing or if an automated action (like an integration) triggers a receipt.

❗Always click Save in the bottom right corner after making changes.

6. Verification & Testing

  1. Create a test reservation: Use a "dummy" booking to avoid affecting real availability.

  2. Add charges: Post a small room charge or service to the folio.

  3. Process a payment: Use the "Add Payment" drawer. For detailed steps, follow the Italy Epson Printer Usage Guide.

  4. Confirm Output:

    • Verify a physical fiscal receipt is printed.

    • Check the Documents tab in the reservation to ensure a digital copy of the receipt appears.

    • If everything looks correct, return to Settings to disable Training Mode for live production.
