How to Connect Riparide to myfrontdesk (Calendar Based Channel)

Riparide is an OTA (Online Travel Agent) in Australia for city-dwellers looking to disconnect from the daily grind and find fulfillment in nature.

Riparide is an all-in-one platform where guests can plan and book escapes through storyteller travel guides. Riparide brings property owners and local photographers together to create visually beautiful travel guides for escapes that are just a short drive from major cities. These guides, called Stories, are packed with adventure tips, social vibes, and unique accommodations – everything a guest needs to plan and book an escape.

Things you should know before you get started:

  • Once you sign up, you can create a listing right away, and then submit it for review. The listing will be reviewed by the Riparide team within 48 hours
  • Riparide is a Calendar Based Channel, which works differently from normal channels like Booking.com, Expedia. To learn more about this type of channel and their limitations, visit this article from our Knowledge Base
  • Calendar-based channels do not provide us with the number of customers that booked, so bookings for shared/dorm rooms will be imported as 1 bed by default, even though there could be more! It's safest to not update/sell dorm rooms on Riparide.  

Note: Calendar channels do not support receiving rates from a channel manager. You must enter rates directly into your Riparide extranet.

How to connect Riparide to myfrontdesk

Step 1 - Getting Started

If you do not have an account at Riparide:

  1. First, you need to create an account at Riparide. Here's the sign-up link: https://www.riparide.com/list-with-us
  2. Once you sign up, you can create a listing right away, and then submit it for review. The listing will be reviewed by the Riparide team within 48 hours.
  3. You will be notified via email by Riparide team once the listing has been published and the dashboard is ready for use. At this point, the ical link will be activated

If you do have an account at Riparide:

Go ahead and proceed with Step 2

Step 2. Start mapping Riparide in myfrontdesk
  1. Click on the gear icon
  2. Access Channels tab
  3. Search for Riparide and click on 'Not Setup, Click to Setup' button

1. Choose the first room type that you want to sync and copy the myfrontdesk link (or click on 'copy link')

Remember that calendar-based channels do not provide the number of guests in a reservation, so bookings for shared/dorm rooms will be imported as 1 bed by default, even though there could be more. It's safest not to update/sell dorm rooms on this channel.

In another tab, log into your Riparide account and follow the steps below:

2. Go to your 'My Listings' at the top right corner

3. Click on the Listing that you wish to sync with myfrontdesk

4. Select 'Sync Calendar' from the left menu

5. Select Cloudbeds as your Calendar

6. Paste the URL you copied from Step 1 above.

7. Click on the Add button

Repeat the steps above for ALL of your Riparide rooms you'd like to sync with myfrontdesk.
