Why Isn't the 'Pay-by-Link' Option Showing Up?

The Pay-by-Link option is a fantastic feature for easily collecting payments, but it won't appear unless a few key things are in place.

Here's a quick guide to why you might not be seeing it:

1. You Need the Right Payment Gateway

Pay-by-Link is only available for properties using the Stripe-powered Cloudbeds Payments gateway.

  • If you're using a different processor (like Stripe Direct, Adyen, PayU, or a legacy connection), this feature will be hidden as it's not compatible with those systems.
  • Action: If you aren't using the current Stripe-powered Cloudbeds Payments gateway, you'll need to complete the migration to use this feature.

2. Your Account Needs Full Activation

Even if you're using the correct gateway, your merchant account must be fully approved and activated.

  • If your account is still in the process of being set up—for example, if all Know Your Customer (KYC) documents haven't been submitted—the account status is not yet "Enabled."
  • Action: Ensure all required onboarding steps and documentation are complete and approved.

Once you are actively using the Stripe-powered Cloudbeds Payments gateway and your account is fully enabled and approved, the Pay-by-Link option will automatically appear in the Add-Payment dropdown in your Folio, Groups, and House Accounts.
