Blocking Rooms in Split Inventory

When managing inventory with Split Inventory, it's crucial to understand how blocking a room affects availability.

Blocking a virtual room will not automatically block the physical rooms it is linked to. This means that even if you block a virtual room, your physical inventory remains available and can still be booked through other virtual room configurations.

To take a unit completely out of inventory and ensure all linked virtual rooms are no longer bookable, you must block the physical room itself. When you block a physical room, the system automatically cascades this block to all virtual rooms that use it, making them unavailable on your calendar.

How to Block All Linked Accommodations

  1. Navigate to your calendar and block the physical room.
  2. In the blocking window, make sure to enable the option to "Block all linked accommodations". This will ensure the block goes to all virtual rooms tied to that physical unit.
  3. If you have a complex setup where a physical room is linked to multiple virtual rooms, blocking the physical room is the most effective way to ensure all related virtual offers are correctly taken out of inventory.

This behavior is by design and helps ensure your physical inventory remains accurate and consistent across all linked room types.
