IDeaS Elevate - Frequently Asked Questions

Troubleshooting Login Issues with IDeaS Elevate

After connecting your Cloudbeds account to IDeaS Elevate through the marketplace, you may encounter one of two common login errors. Here is a guide to help you resolve them.

Error 1: "Account Not Found" or "Site Deactivated" Message

Why this happens: After you initiate the connection from the Cloudbeds marketplace, there is a waiting period of up to 5 business days for IDeaS Elevate to set up and activate your account. If you attempt to log in before this process is complete and you have received a welcome email, the system will not recognize your account.

What to do: This is expected behavior. Please wait for the official welcome email from the IDeaS Elevate team. This email is your confirmation that your account is fully set up and ready for you to begin the onboarding process.

Error 2: Login Error After Receiving the Welcome Email

Why this happens: If you have already received the welcome email from the IDeaS team but are still unable to log in, it is likely that your password needs to be reset.

What to do: Reset your password to solve this error.

How does the system determine price changes, and what factors influence pricing?

IDeaS Elevate is designed to optimize pricing dynamically, ensuring you maximize revenue while staying competitive. The system automatically sends updated pricing to Cloudbeds at least once every night.

Here's how it works:

  1. Factors Influencing Pricing: Elevate leverages multiple data points, including forecasted occupancy, historical trends, seasonality, special events, and the competitive landscape, to recommend the most effective price. Unlike many other systems, it proactively adjusts pricing to minimize missed revenue opportunities.
  2. Price Adjustments: You have control with strategic floor and ceiling prices that prevent extreme fluctuations. If you manually change a price, Elevate updates it immediately in Cloudbeds. If you unlock a price, it reverts to the system's recommended price, which will be reassessed and potentially adjusted in the next update.
  3. Continuous Recalibration: The system continuously updates its forecasts and pricing models to adapt to changing market conditions, competitor dynamics, and new demand patterns.

When should I manually adjust prices?

While Elevate automates pricing, you may need to override the system in specific scenarios where you have unique insights.

  • Anticipating Unrecognized Demand: If you know about a newly announced event that will drive demand in a typically slow period, you can manually increase prices early to capture higher-value bookings.
  • Accounting for Competitor Anomalies: If a competitor lowers prices due to a temporary issue like renovations, you can maintain your stable pricing instead of reacting to an artificial market drop.

By using Elevate's automation and making strategic manual adjustments when needed, you keep your hotel competitive and profitable without excessive hands-on management.

Revenue and Reporting

How much can I expect to increase my revenue by using IDeaS Elevate?

Hotels using Elevate typically see financial benefits through improved RevPAR and significant time savings from automating the pricing process. Most hotels experience an immediate uplift of up to 5% within the first few months of implementation.

We recommend being cautious of providers that promise unrealistic revenue increases. These claims often rely on simple year-over-year comparisons that may credit the system for revenue gains caused by other factors, such as market conditions, promotions, or economic changes.

Does the system provide recommendations for restrictions like minimum stays?

IDeaS Elevate for Cloudbeds does not calculate or recommend inventory restrictions. However, it can alert you when a competitor is unavailable, which helps you identify compression in the market.

Can I receive daily reports or notifications via email?

No, IDeaS Elevate does not offer daily reports or email notifications. Alerts are available only through the in-app or phone notifications.

Technical Details

How often are rates updated, and can I change the update time?

Rates are updated daily. The timing is based on our internal rate shopping schedule, which is optimized to incorporate the latest market and competitor data.

An important note: rate shopping is included in the RMS and does not need to be purchased as a separate add-on.

The update schedule is set automatically to ensure the most current data is used and cannot be changed.

What are the available rate sources?

IDeaS Elevate currently pulls rate data from Expedia and Booking.com. If a hotel is not connected to either of these channels, the system will not be able to display any rates.
