Limitations	An issued key card cannot be updated with a new check-out time. Replacing a card requires reissuing the reservation's key cards, which deactivates previously issued cards.

Introduction

The Mecx-Tech door lock integration connects Cloudbeds PMS with supported electronic lock systems so front desk staff can issue guest access after completing check-in.

Staff open the Mecx-Tech integration app by pressing F2. From the app, they can select the number of keys to issue and set the applicable check-in and check-out times. Guest access is automatically disabled at the programmed check-out time.

Review the limitations below before using the integration, then use the provider table to confirm which lock system and access method apply to your property.

Limitations

Mecx-Tech operates on Windows and requires a small integration app to be installed.
After a key card is issued, its programmed check-out time cannot be changed. To extend a guest's access, issue a new key card with the updated check-out time.
For reservations with multiple rooms that check in on different dates (split bookings), the key card for the first room is issued at the initial check-in. Key cards for additional rooms are created on their respective check-in dates.
If a key card is lost, reissue all key cards associated with the reservation. This deactivates the lost card and all other previously issued cards for the reservation.
