TripAdvisor is the world's largest travel guidance platform, helping hundreds of millions of people each month plan and book trips. With more than 1 billion reviews and opinions of nearly 8 million businesses worldwide, travelers turn to Tripadvisor to find deals on accommodations, book experiences, and discover places of interest.
Connect to TripAdvisor Plus / Instant Book to display your property's availability and rates on TripAdvisor in order to drive bookings directly on the TripAdvisor platform.
Things you should know before you get started:
- Check the FAQ section before connecting to know more information about features supported and further details
- Hostels are currently ineligible for Plus and Instant Booking campaigns;
- The Instant Booking feature is only available to guests placing the booking from the USA, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, New Zealand Philippines, Singapore, and South Africa. Travelers in other countries will not see the Instant Booking option;
- Tripadvisor Plus is only available for the travelers based in the US.
- Instant Booking and Plus campaign can be used simultaneously.
- Your price should be in parity or better with other partners providing instant booking. If it’s not competitive it’s possible that your instant booking will not be shown.
Tripadvisor Plus is primarily used by existing Tripadvisor property users. If you do not have an account with Tripadvisor and are interested about Tripadvisor Plus, follow the steps below:
Go to the Management center,
- Click on Learn More under TRIPADVISOR PLUS
- Click Apply Now

If you already are in contact with your Tripadvisor Account Manager and have signed the agreement, go to Step 2.
Double-check your property information to ensure it is properly set up. They will be sent to the channel.
In Cloudbeds PMS,
- Open the Settings menu
- Go to Property Details
- Review/Fill out all the Property Profile information - TripAdvisor Instant Booking uses this information when displaying your property.
In Cloudbeds PMS,
- Go to Settings (gear icon)
- Open the Channels page under Channel Distribution
- Search for TripAdvisor Plus / Instant Booking and click on Not set up
- Click to Enable Channel
- Configure the Rate Plans to be synced with each accommodation
- Add Base Rate Adjustment for each room type, if needed. Click Next when completed or if you want to skip this step.
- Configure the Taxes & Fees for TripAdvisor - if do not have taxes configured in your Reservations Source page yet, set them up before moving forward.
Extra Settings:
- Configure your General Policies (Deposit, Maximum Persons per Booking and Credit Cards accepted) to be sent to the channel
- Configure your Cancelation Policy
- The cancelation policies that you have set in Myallocator can be used OR you can switch to a standard cancelation policy.
It will not be possible to switch it back to the one configured in Myallocator previously if you opt for a standard cancelation policy during mapping.
- Configure the text of your Custom Policies - terms & conditions, and payment policies:
You have completed Tripadvisor Plus/Instant Booking mapping.
If you just signed up for TripAdvisor Plus/ Instant Booking, note that it takes up to 48 hours for TripAdvisor Plus/Instant Booking to pick up new properties connection.
- Go to the Management center and Sign in
- Select the property you want to set up
- Click on Drive booking and choose the campaign: Plus or Instant Booking
- Under Connectivity Partner, choose Cloudbeds' Myallocator
- Click Get Started
- Verify your property and click Correct
- Verify the dates, rates and rooms and click Correct
If this information does not match, make sure you have waited 48 hours as mentioned above.
If you have waited 48 hours and the information still does not match, contact myallocator support team.
- Read through the Tax options very carefully, and select the proper option based on your rates and taxes
- Click Continue
Congratulations! Tripadvisor Plus/Instant Booking is now set up.
Within 24 hours, travelers should be able to instantly book rooms at your property on Tripadvisor.
When active, your Plus/Instant Booking option will display a View Deal button, and guests will be presented with the option of paying for the booking directly within Tripavisor, as shown below.
Explore the Dashboard to learn how you can track your performance. Go to the Management Center and click on Manage Campaign for Plus to check it.

Troubleshooting
In this case, there are 2 possibilities:
- The booking requirements are not met. Check the following section: How guests book with Tripadvisor Instant Booking
- If you only sell (or have available) dorm beds, the Booking button will not be available to guests.
This is because Tripadvisor's default search option is always for "1 Room, 2 Adults". Since a dorm bed only allows 1 person, the available beds do not show up in the first search that a guest performs.
The guest can change the search to "1 Room, 1 Adult". But by that time, the window for Instant booking has already passed. In short, dorm beds do not appear in the search options for Tripadvisor Instant Booking.
