As the partnership between Orbtiz and Expedia was unified - all new properties signing up with Expedia will have their inventory pushed to Orbitz (if the property wants to be distributed on Orbitz - it has to sign up for Expedia). Because of this, new properties should no longer connect Orbitz as a separate channel on myfrontdesk, you simply need to connect with Expedia to update your Orbitz account.
The full family of brands the users have access to through the Expedia includes:
- Expedia.com and related foreign sites
- American Express Travel
Please note that some properties still need to manage their inventory on the separate Orbitz channel, therefore Orbitz still appears as a separate channel in myfrontdesk.
Such properties may still manage their connection by following the guide below:
Step 1: In myfrontdesk go to Manage > Channels > Orbitz
Enter Credentials: all you need to sync Orbitz is your Username and Password that you use when logging into Orbitz's back office.
Step 2. Map Rooms
Map your myallocator rooms on the left hand side to the rooms you have configured on Orbitz, displayed on the right side.
Step 3. Add Your Channel-Specific Rate Difference
This is most often used when a channel is expecting a NET rate instead of a SELL rate.
Make sure to do a full sync from the Availability Calendar to update the channel with your most current availability and rate information.
