Send a Cancelation Request via Cloudbeds to Airbnb API Reservations

This guide outlines the process for automatically syncing a cancelation request for Airbnb reservations directly from Cloudbeds PMS. This eliminates manual cancelations on both platforms, reducing errors and saving time.

Things to note

  • This feature only works for Airbnb (API) reservations.
  • Reservations must be created directly on Airbnb for a successful cancelation from Cloudbeds.
  • The cancelation cannot be undone.
  • If Airbnb experiences errors during the cancelation process, the reservation will still be canceled in Cloudbeds PMS.
  • Airbnb (API) channel needs to be enabled (channel status) for a successful cancelation.

Cancel an Airbnb API reservation via Cloudbeds

  1. Access the reservation to be canceled
  2. Change the reservation status to canceled in the drop-down menu
  3. Click to continue after reviewing the cancelation pop-up warning

  1. Fill out the Airbnb Cancelation Form with the following details:
    1. Reason for cancelation
    2. Note to the guest (optional): Enter notes to send to the guest.
    3. Note to Airbnb (optional): Enter notes to send to Airbnb.
    4. Penalty: The fee that the penalty will incur. This amount is retrieved from Aribnb.
  2. Click to cancel the reservation: The reservation will be canceled in Cloudbeds, and a cancelation request will be sent to Airbnb.
  3. Or do not cancel: If you decide not to proceed with this cancelation.

A notification will be displayed to confirm whether the cancelation request was confirmed by Airbnb.

  • Note that the reservation status can take several minutes to be updated on the Airbnb website.
