Whistle Company Settings

On the Company Settings page, you can manage your account format preferences: date and time, application language, sms country code, and currency settings. 

  •  The Company Name in Whistle for Cloudbeds is taken from the Property/Company Name configured in the Cloudbeds Billing Portal.
  • Properties should not update the Company Name in Whistle directly. The Property/Company Name should be updated in the Billing Portal, and then the Company Name will be updated accordingly.

 

Access the Company Settings page

  1. Access the Company company.pngpage in the top navigation bar
  2. Go to the Settings section
  3. In this page, you can:
    1. Configure the Application Language
    2. Set Date & Time preferences
    3. Select the fallback Country Code of your sms numbers
    4. Check your Currency

1 - Set up the Application Language

 Only Super Admins and Admins can set up a new application language on the Company Settings page. Other users can only change the application language for their own user on their User Profile page.

Once you select which language you prefer, the system will reload to apply the change.

The Mobile app offers the same language drop-down selection, meaning that mobile language can differ from your language dashboard.

The Whistle for Cloudbeds platform is available in:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese
  • French
  • Thai
  • Italian
  • Dutch
  • Vietnamese
  • Indonesian
  • Malay
  • Tagalog

2 - Set up Date & Time Preferences

 These settings are only for Whistle for Cloudbeds, independent of Cloudbeds PMS time settings.
Settings selected will also be reflected in the Whistle for Cloudbeds mobile app.

Timezone

The timezone configured to your Whistle account can only be changed by support. Reach out to our support, if you need to change it.

Application Date Format

Available Formats:

  • Default (from Language)
  • dd/mm/yyyy (Gregorian Date Format)
  • mm/dd/yyyy (USA Date Format)

Application Time Format

Available Formats:

  • Default (from Language)
  • 23:59 (24 hours time format)
  • 11:59 (12 hours time format)

3 - SMS Fallback Country Code

In this field, you can select the fallback country code of your sms numbers. This tool is useful when guests' numbers are incomplete or invalid, and the system can use the fallback hierarchy to try to fix and deliver messages:

  1. Check the guest's country and try adding that country code. If it's an invalid number,
  2. Check the hotel's country and try adding that country code. If it's an invalid number,
  3. Check the SMS fallback field, and try adding that country code.

4 - Currency Settings

Main Application Currency

Whistle for Cloudbeds uses the same currency exchange rates available within Cloudbeds PMS and can offer 160 different currencies by default.

The main app currency will be automatically pulled from your Cloudbeds PMS account, meaning that, the currency used in Whistle for Cloudbeds will always match Cloudbeds PMS currency settings.

Whistle Upsell Currency

Whistle's Upsell feature will also pull the property's currency setting from Cloudbeds PMS. The default currency in Cloudbeds PMS will be the currency applied to the property's Upsell product prices.

As a guest accessing the Upsell Storefront:

  • They will be able to view products at different prices.
  • When they purchase a product and pay via:
    • Charge to Folio - The hotel's default currency will be used.
    • Credit Card (Stripe Connect) - They will be able to pay in the currency of their choice.

Note that these six currencies are not supported by Stripe:

  • GGP (Guernsey Pound)
  • HRK (Croatian Kuna)
  • IMP (Isle of Man Pound)
  • MRU (Mauritanian ouguiya)
  • STN (São Tomé and Príncipe dobra)
  • VES (Venezuelan bolívar soberano)

Upsell Storefront Currency Picker 

The Upsell Storefront offers a Currency Picker which allows the guest to select a different currency to display the prices in.

  • If a guest revisits the Upsell storefront, their previous currency selection will be saved.

Orders

All orders will have their correspondence sent in the property's default currency, including the order confirmation screen, confirmation email, refund email, and cancellation email. In the example, the property's currency is BRL:
