The Auto-Translation can recognize messages in different languages and translate the response to the guest's language for use in the Guest book, Marketplace, and Chatbot automation features.
Auto-translation Overview
The auto-translation option allows you to automatically translate the contents rather than manually write/translate each message for guests from different countries.
You will be able to use translation credits to automatically translate guest-facing content in up to 29 different languages:

How it works
You can use Translations in three different functionalities in Whistle for Cloudbeds:
- Translating Upsell, Guest Book, and Digital Registration*
- Chatbot Automations
- In Conversations (where the translation option is already available).
For Upsell, Guest Book and Chatbot Automations you can have the option to use Auto-translation. Check more details below.
*Registration Documents can contain legal and policy information. Therefore, there is no auto-translation option available for this feature. You need to manually provide any translated content for digital registration in any or all of the 29 available languages.
- You will be given a one-time 10 credit equivalent to $10 USD for auto-translation services which covers up to 500,000 characters (the credit does not apply to US and Canada properties).
- Once you run out of 10 credits, any additional credits you use will come from your messaging credit balance.
- When the chatbot responds to inquiries in languages other than English, a small translation fee will be deducted from your existing credit balance. Costs may vary depending on the number of characters per message.
In each one of those features, while configuring the translations to your products and pages, you will find the option to translate a text with the Translate button automatically.
- Click on the Translate button.
- A confirmation modal will pop up. Once you accept, Whistle for Cloudbeds will automatically translate the missing/empty fields.
- Click on Save.
You can enable Auto-translation for Chatbot automation. The feature recognizes messages in different languages and responds in the guest's language.
Enabling Auto-translation for Chatbot Automations
To use the auto-translation in Chatbot Automations, you need to enable it by following the steps below:
- Go to the Automations tab
- Open Chatbot Automations Settings
- Switch the toggles to enable Automatic Translations (inbound and outbound options as preferred).
The auto-translation will be ready to use.
Whenever you configure an automation, the Chatbot will recognize the language, auto-translate and then respond back to the guest in their language. See the example:
