Connect calendar-based channels (iCal)

This guide shows how to connect calendar-based channels using iCal links.

Things to note before getting started

Connect calendar-based channels

Step 1 — Copy the room-type iCal URL in Cloudbeds PMS

In Distribution > Discover:

  1. Search for the channel you want to connect, or search for calendar.
  2. Click View channel / View iCal links.

  1. If the channel is listed, click Enable channel.
  2. Each room type has its own URL. Copy each URL to use in Step 2.

Step 2 — Import the iCal URL into your channel
  1. Log in to your calendar channel.
  2. Find where you manage room types/listings.
  3. Locate the specific room type/listing/calendar.
  4. Find the option to Import an external calendar (label varies, e.g., “sync”, “import”).
  5. Paste the Cloudbeds room-type iCal URL from Step 1.
  6. Repeat for each room type/bed.

One-way channels: connection is complete after import.

Two-way channels: also export the channel’s calendar back into Cloudbeds PMS (see Step 3).

Step 3 — Export the channel’s calendar to Cloudbeds PMS

After importing Cloudbeds URLs into the channel:

  1. Locate the Export calendar option in the channel’s calendar sync page.
  2. Copy the channel’s export URL.
  3. Paste it into the Exported calendar URL field on the Cloudbeds PMS mapping page (one per room type).

Repeat for each room type to complete the connection.

Channel-specific steps

GlampingHub

Import Cloudbeds URL (iCal)

  1. Log in to GlampingHub.
  2. Open the Calendar tab.
  3. Click Calendar sync: Import/Export (right side).
  4. Select the Property.
  5. Select the Accommodation/Unit and click Apply.
  6. Paste the Cloudbeds PMS iCal URL from Step 1.
  7. Click the Sync icon.


Export GlampingHub URL (iCal)

  1. In your GlampingHub dashboard, click Export URL.
  2. Copy the export link corresponding to the Cloudbeds room type.
  3. Paste the GlampingHub URL into the Exported calendar URL on the Cloudbeds mapping page.


Riparide

Import Cloudbeds URL (iCal)

  1. Copy the Cloudbeds PMS iCal link for the room type (use “Copy link”).

  1. Log in to Riparide.
  2. Go to My Listings.
  3. Open the Listing to sync.
  4. Select Sync Calendar from the left menu.

  1. Select Cloudbeds as the calendar source.
  2. Paste the Cloudbeds URL.
  3. Click Add.

Export Riparide URL (iCal)

  1. Copy the Riparide calendar URL for the corresponding room type.
  2. Paste the Riparide calendar URL into the Exported calendar URL in Cloudbeds PMS.


VRBO iCal (HomeAway)

Import the Cloudbeds PMS URL (iCal)

  1. Choose the first room type to sync and click Copy link.

In the VRBO/HomeAway dashboard:

  1. Click Calendar.
  2. Select Import & Export.
  3. Click Import a Calendar.

  1. Paste the Cloudbeds iCal URL copied in Step 3.
  2. Choose how imported events behave (e.g., Block or Don’t block).
  3. Click Next.

  1. Name your calendar.
  2. Select a color for the imported calendar.
  3. Click Import.

Export HomeAway/VRBO URL (iCal)

In the VRBO/HomeAway dashboard:

  1. Open Import & Export.
  2. Click Export Calendar.
  3. Uncheck Include Tentative Reservations in the calendar export to avoid guest inquiry reservations via iCal.
  4. Click Copy URL to copy the export calendar URL.
  5. Paste the URL into your Cloudbeds PMS account (Exported calendar URL field).


  1. After finishing all room types in Cloudbeds PMS, click Continue.

Mapping complete.

FAQ

How do I add the calendar link to my WordPress site?

You can use Cloudbeds iCal URLs anywhere iCal feeds are accepted (e.g., embedded website calendar widgets showing availability).

We recommend this video (7 min) for WordPress setup: Watch the tutorial. When asked for a calendar link, paste your Cloudbeds PMS iCal URL.

How do I import iCal links to Google Calendar?
  1. After completing Step 1, open Google Calendar.
  2. Click the + next to “Add other calendars”.
  3. Paste the Cloudbeds room-type iCal URL and click Add calendar.

When a Cloudbeds room type becomes unavailable (availability = 0), a block will appear in Google Calendar.

    Too involved .... need a simple way to sync my calendar to my iPhone. 

    All I need is to be able to accept /decline bookings , and administer my available and unavailable reservations .
