Base Rates and Availability Matrix - Closed to Arrival/Departure Restrictions

Block arrivals or departures on specific date ranges, depending on your business needs.

This article offers a general overview of the Closed to Arrival and Closed to Departure restrictions on Cloudbeds PMS.

Restrictions Overview

Closed to Arrival

Use this restriction to stop reservations from beginning on a specific date. When the Closed to Arrival restriction is applied, it will not possible for guests to check-in/arrive on that date.

Date picker with restrictions applied (guests cannot check in on this arrival date)
Closed to Departure

Use this restriction to stop reservations from ending on a specific date. When the Closed to Departure restriction is applied, it will not be possible for guests to check-out/depart on that date. .

Add Closed to Arrival/Departure Restrictions

Option 1 - Availability Matrix

Add Long Term Intervals

  1. Click on the Main Menu
  2. Go to Rates and Availability
  3. Click on the Availability Matrix
  4. Click on Long-term Interval
  1. Select the accommodation(s) where the restriction(s) will be applied
  2. Select the dates from the calendar
  3. Select the specific days of the week, if applicable
  4. Select Closed to Arrival or Closed to Departure from the Interval Settings drop-down menu
  5. Click on the Closed to Arrival/Departure toggle(s) to enable the restrictions for the selected dates
  6. Click on Add Interval
  7. Save your changes

Edit one day at a time

  1. In the Availability Matrix, go to the Display Options drop-down menu and make sure to select the Closed to Arrival/Closed to Departure restrictions. If the restrictions were previously selected, these will be already displayed in the Availability Matrix.
  2. Click on the dates when the restriction(s) will be applied. These will be highlighted to show the changes.
  3. Click on Save
Option 2 - Base Rates
  1. Click on the Main Menu
  2. Click on Rates and Availability
  3. Go to Base Rates
  1. Click to edit your Base Rate(s)
  2. Select Yes in the Closed to Arrival/Departure options
  3. Click on Save Interval
  4. Save your changes

Remove Closed to Arrival/Departure Restrictions

  • From the Availability Matrix: Click again on the corresponding toggle(s) (Step 9). This action will change the toggle color to gray, and it will disable the restriction for the applicable dates.
  • From the Base Rates: Repeat the steps above, select No in the Closed to Arrival/Departure option(s) (Step 5), and save your interval.
