Using a Google account allows you to access Cloudbeds PMS quickly and securely. It streamlines the login process by removing the need to manage multiple passwords or external authentication codes.
Why Choose This Option?
Logging in with Google is a highly secure and familiar method for most users:
- Familiar & Fast: If you already use Gmail or Google Workspace, this process will feel identical.
- Universal Access: This feature works with both personal Google accounts (@gmail.com) and corporate Google Workspace accounts (formerly G-Suite).
- Enhanced Security: Using Google satisfies security requirements. Since Google handles the authentication, it serves as a secure, built-in Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) layer.
- Centralized Control: Property owners can require staff to use corporate Google accounts, making it easy to manage access and deactivate users instantly if they leave the business.
Enable Google Authentication in Cloudbeds PMS
An administrator must grant permission for a user to use the "Use existing Google account" function.
Enable it for a new user:
Account-> Settings
-Users
->Add User
Check the Use existing Google account option.
The user must then access their email and follow the verification link to finalize the setup.
Enable it for existing users:
Account-> Settings
-Users
->Click to edit the existing user
-> Check the Use existing Google account option.
The user does not need to take any additional steps. They can use Google Authentication when they login to the system next time.
How to use Google Authentication
You can only use this function if it has been enabled for your user profile by an administrator (see the section above).
- On the login page, click to Continue with Google
- There's no need to add the username - upon selecting "Continue with Google," you will be redirected to Google's authentication page to sign in.
Select the Google account you wish to use and follow the standard login prompts.
If you have not been granted permission to use this method, you will receive an error message. If this happens, please contact your property administrator or owner to enable the setting.
